Introducing Wintersweet Wellness Collective

I hope you've been keeping cool as best you can in this uncommonly summery weather. I've been more than happy to be at work for the past few weeks because work has AC and my house does not!

You might have noticed some changes around the clinic since July 1st. I'm overjoyed to announce that my longtime massage pal Jennifer Semeniuk and I are now the owners of our clinic space. We found out several months ago that the previous owner would be stepping away from the business and we couldn't imagine working anywhere else. It was a steep learning curve but we think we've put together a shared space that is a real delight to be in. We've also rebranded the space, it's now Wintersweet Wellness Collective. We felt that it conveyed the sense of shared joy and responsibility we want to foster with our fellow massage therapists. I think Jennifer described the Wintersweet shrub connection best in her newsletter a few weeks ago.

Wintersweet is a shrub that only blooms in the dead of winter - which seems fitting to us. Each and every one of the therapists in our clinic works to help you thrive when conditions are the toughest.

You can take a look at the clinic website over here www.wintersweetwellensscollective.com
and get to know our other therapists and a bit more about what everyone offers.

For the month of July I have the Dirty Bath Bomb from Lush as a little take home birthday gift. This is a really fun spearmint and salt based bath treat and we could all use a little more refreshing mint this month!

The province has relaxed the rules around Covid safety recently and I wanted to let you know what that means for your appointments at our clinic space. We met as a group last weekend and decided that we want to err on the side of what is safest for the largest number of people. So we have opted to keep masks for at least another month or so. There will still be a box of masks at the front door if you've forgotten yours and hand sanitizer at various spots in the clinic. I am still opting to run an air purifier while I'm at work and we're all keeping to our usual strict cleaning rules. The one difference is that I have switched to prone protective covers for you when you're face down, though I have affectionately nicknamed them "face bags" because they're a bag that hangs off the face cradle and the name makes me giggle a bit every time I say it.

In news completely unrelated to massage, many of you know that my house is full of people but even more full of animals. One of my housemates volunteers with Community Cats YEG and is fostering three very little kittens for them right now. So we're outnumbered by animals 3 to 1 at the moment. It is as overwhelming as it is adorable!!

I hope to see you soon!
